Spring Show Celebrates Achievements of Student Artists

More than 50 patrons turned out to enjoy the Cuyahoga Heights Middle School/High School Spring Art Show held from 5-7 p.m. on April 8 in the North Auditorium.

Guests paid $2 to tour the exhibit featuring more than 100 student works of art. Guests also were able to purchase items from the Art Club’s bake sale. For $1 youngsters were invited to participate at the craft tables which included weaving keychains, decorating coasters and flower pots with Sharpie® felt pens, face painting, and getting temporary tattoos.

Patrons were also invited to vote for their favorite artwork on display. The following students were recognized for their artistic talents:

  • Best in Show was awarded to Lily Frank (Grade 12) for her oil painting, entitled,  "Foreshortened Self-Portrait."

“Overall we had a great night,” said Art Club Advisor and Teacher Halle McPherson, who coordinated the show.  “We raised roughly $380 for the Art Club, and had a fun time with arts and crafts.”  The proceeds will be used to purchase supplies for school-wide art projects and to fund field trips and other Art Club activities.
